How to Set up Android 5.0 Lollipop Smart Lock

It's new Smart Lock feature Google added in Android 5.0. Security is the one of the most important thing for all smartphone users.


A new feature in Android 5.0 Lollipop looks to make things a little easier. When a trusted Bluetooth device or an NFC tag is in range of your phone, the security lock will be disabled.

First of all sync your phone or tablet to setup the smart lock feature with a bluetooth device, like smartwatch, speaker, or a car. You will get the notification on your phone once the two devices have been paired. Now click on the 'Add as a trusted device' select the device, Bluetooth or NFC whatever you have.

Go to the Settings » Security » Smart Lock  »  Trusted Devices.

Now passcode or pattern will no longer be required the next time you turn off your display, as long as the trusted device is in range of your smartphone or tablet.
