Xiaomi(MI) Launched New Face Detection Feature in MIUI 6

Xiaomi has launched new face detection feature in gallery. Now MIUI user can categorizing photos according to a person's face? Find the update in detail below.


What's New? & How to use this feature?

• First, turn on the Cloud sync with Gallery photos, this is to ensure that the data is synced across all MIUI devices.
• After that, head to Gallery, scroll over to the last "Face" tab, then tap on "Sort by people". The scan will take some time, more if there's a lot of photos in your phone.
• After the scan is complete, a list of people will be shown with thumbnails showing their faces.
• The name tags for each face is by default "Unnamed", tapping on it will allow users to change the name.
• If the person is in your contact list, you can just choose from your list of contacts!
• Long pressing on a particular face will show the options to ignore the scan result or to merge it with another set.

Note: Choosing the option to ignore will cause the scan result to no longer include the person's face in future scans.

Merging albums will allow you to choose one of the previous albums, or if you wish to make it a new one, just type in a name or link it to a contact.
